I like writing birthday posts as they allow me to reflect half-way on my yearly goals. Yesterday was my birthday, I turned 32 and did a little introspection.
My 31 won’t be notable. I really struggled to deal with the pandemic, both mentally and physically. I am not ready to develop yet, because after all it’s not over yet. I might talk about it at a later stage.
This last year, I did not leave Manitoba at all, because it was not really allowed. I did try to list all my positive things:
- 2 trips to Riding Mountain National Park,
- a dozen black bears,
- a corn maze,
- a TV interview,
- a new cellphone,
- moving (still inside Winnipeg),
- 4 years in Manitoba,
- making this blog bilingual,
- a stand-up paddle session,
- a pizza lesson,
- starting hiking for real.
I have not tried many new things because everything has been closed for the most part of the year. My social life is shrinking too, because it was impossible to socialize outside of the household. It is still not fully possible. I removed “getting my driver’s licence” from my to-do list for the foreseeable future. And I have been suffering from tendinitis for a few weeks, it’s a bit frustrating!
For my 32.. well I really hope to travel back to Paris once. A lot of discoveries, getting back to a more active lifestyle and feeling better overall. Otherwise, I do not set myself with any specific goals, because we don’t really know what measures tomorrow will bring. And that’s ok!
